The post had to do with veterans taking pictures in front of their homes with the signs asking people not to set off fireworks near their homes. The irony in this is that these same guys are sporting a Spartan, or sheepdog, or whatever the alpha male / military themed flavor of the month shirt is trying to look as imposing as possible. If you are such a hardened warrior or are you someone suffering the traumas of war who cannot deal with fireworks? Stop the cry for attention and pick a side.

Sounds pretty spot on to me. The dude is wearing a wounded warrior cap and a U.S. Army Cavalry tee-shirt, 7th Cavalry I think.
ETA: I cecked and it does look like he is wearing a t-shirt from the 7th Cav. Here's their unit crest...

He called a female captain a worthless count in the middle of a firefight once because she refused to get out of her vehicle. True story

This is more accurate. However, I'm amazed at the lack of respect for this. Having seen my brother go through it firsthand, it is a real thing.
Every one of you assholes on here saying this is for attention should be down on their knees thanking whatever they believe in they didn't have to go through or see some of the shite these people saw or lived on a regular basis. I'm right there with you. We will never know what it is like and have absolutely no business ever trying to figure out if what it is like because we didn't live it and don't have the slightest clue what it is like to face death and destruction on a daily basis and the mental and physical strain it puts on a human. frick you for even thinking you have the slightest clue in comprehending this.

I appreciate that, man. I don't like being a party-pooper or anything, but I'm a vet so I expect people to bend over backwards for me. I've turned into a huge pussy like the SJWs I like to ironically bitch about. USA! Semper Fi!

the people who blow the most shite up in my area are vets.

By "courteous" does he mean give him a bunch for free?
Posted on 7/1/15 at 5:19 pm to SamuelClemens
If he were a real badass his sign would say
"Be courteous to everyone you meet...... and have a plan to kill them."

I fought for your right to freedom and enjoy all the liberties an American is entitled to.
Except fireworks. Keep that shite 5 miles away from me you a-holes!

I grew to hate fireworks because of how stressed they would make my Lab for nearly 14 years, especially living on the water, thunderstorms too.
With my dog passing we sit on the deck and enjoy watching all the neighbors try to outdo each other. It does get a little old after about 3 nights.
I could send him her thunder buddy jacket if he wasn't so fat.

was working construction when I was a kid doing a job on an ordinance plant, two of the guys on the crew were just back from VN, from really being "in the shite,"as they say, the plant was testing starlight shells, some other type of illumination rounds, and some mortars, every time one would go off they would look at each other and laugh, I didn't know wtf, then one of says to the other, "does that sound make you want to hit the deck and try to get swallowed into the ground every time?" they were laughing about it, used to hunt with an uncle of mine that did a little island hopping in the pacific with the Marines during WWII, he never had any problem with busting caps or having them busted around him either, guy in OP is a puss, probably a REMF, and is definitely milking this

Pussies, probably spent their whole deployment on Camp Victory or KAF there is one of these signs in our neighborhood I'm gonna go buy some of those bigass mortar fireworks fire off in his front yard for being a bitch and bringing discredit upon the military.

I only read the first page and there seems to be a lot of assholes ragging on this dude for asking politely to be 'courteous'... he didn't say, "Don't use fireworks around me'...

Guy could just buy some noise cancelling headphones. Problem solved

Was probably first in line to see American Sniper.
