One of my professors was that cops friend. He took the news hard.

Might be the dress, but it appears as if she has one on the way too... That's awful.

Why props to them?
Because they correctly performed their job while a horrific situation unfolded right in front of them. They decided to allow the judicial system to convict and execute the guy rather than put their duties aside and execute him themselves. They chose the MUCH harder path, when no one would have blamed them for choosing the easy one.
It's admirable considering the atmosphere police are living in right now. They took the hard way and did their job to the letter of the law. If you don't think they deserve props for that, that's more a reflection of you.

Last time I checked justifiable homicide are letters of the law too. Was perfectly legal to kill this piece of shite then and there.
This notion that it is easy to pull a gun out and use it while being fired upon, it's befuddling. Somewhat similar to the Mike brown supporters who question why police can't just shoot someone in the knee to disable them. Physically, it is no easy to actually shoot that accurately in an adrenaline situation. And it surely isn't easy morally or mentally knowing that once you pull your gun your aim is to take a life. Then live for years knowing you had to do that.
Now I know you aren't bashing them. And are actually congratulating them.
Just an idea that they want to shoot people is easy is a little ridiculous
