I get disappointed when there aren't mushrooms in a boil. Never had bell peppers in one. Saying that, you never dust the outside.

All this. Covering crawfish in tonys is the best way to tell everyone you have no faith in your boil. Amateur shite.

So for the duster peeps. What do actually put in during the boil? Lemon and Salt? Nothing?

I can't speak for dusters because I'm not familiar with the practice. I have my own style which involves a combo of powder and liquid seasoning along with soaking. Some of the best crawfish I've had is prepared by a buddy of mine. He uses old rice bags from Gueydan to put fresh vegetables and such in for flavor then only uses cayenne pepper for heat. Flavor is great. He also boils using an old number 3 wash tub instead of a boil pot.

For the most part they don't season the water enough then dust to add the seasoning and the level of spicy at the end.
Not so. It's a regular boil. You just sprinkle seasoning on the crawfish when your dumping them in the cooler.
