CNN= nazi news.

It is scary how similar Liberals policies match the 1940’s Nazi’s policies. Scary.

Why do you say hoarding assets like it's a negative?

Are those assets not earned and already taxed? What right does the government have to claim any of that?

I dont have a problem with their wealth, but most of these guys are unamerican and would sell off our country for money. That’s sad. Same as the idolizes in DC They’re in bed with China and that’s fixin to haunt us big time. The hell with China. Bring those 70000 manufacturing plants back to the americas.

If you took all the money in the world and divided it evenly among all the people in the world, in short order the same people who had the bulk of it before would have it again.

Wealth envy is not a solution. It's an emotion

Not necessarily. The idea is to put those assets to work. The taxation of property goes way back to Lords. They would buy up all the land not do shite with it while peasants starved cause they didn't have land to scratch and sow seeds to feed their families. The "property tax" incentivized the land holders to do something productive with the land and not hoard it, whether it be rent out the land for someone else to farm or mine or do it themselves.

Socialist dont understand economics.

Go figure.

Dumbasses believe wealth is being hoarded. It's being created. It's also put back into the economy.

Socialism is a disease of the spiteful and jealous.

The Bible says it is wrong to hoard land and not be productive. If one person owned 99.99999 percentin the world he could force people off the land and let people starve to death. This is extreme but in principle it is the same. Hoarding everything is unproductive to society. I'm not advocating for or against anything I'm merely showing you how stupid it is to let the wealthy get wealthier by skimming off the less fortunate.

Tell you what I'll buy everything and move you to a reservation in Alaska so you can live a little bit longer. No trespassing I passed laws sat ng I can shoot you on site if caught.

How much money are we talking here and what kind of effects would we see if it were released into the system?

I kind of agree with him on that.

There's definitely a corporate culture that fricks the guys at the bottom. I've seen it firsthand. Some VP of such and such gets paid 400k plus bonuses for glad handing people while the people on the ground are told the company can't afford cost of living raises. It's a very prevalent practice and it causes a lot of animosity.

That's the conundrum. Taxing wealthy especially at what Warren and Bernie propose would likely create liquidity issues. Probably be great for lawyers that setup trusts and corporations. We all know how the gubment loves them.

The only thing that needs to be fixed in America is healthcare. It's too facking expensive and one of the leading causes people list during bankruptcy. Hospital bills eat away at your soul. I don't have solutions but I'm willing to listen.

horrible opening line for an argument...

You are acting like wealth is a zero sum game. Every dollar one earns does not come at equal expense of someone else.

Your entire premise is flawed.

If we go by the definition of socialism which is "the means, production and distribution of a society is owned collectively" it should be 0%. You owned a business, you spent countless hours learning about your product, working out the details and leadership skills and learned how to deal with the banks and manage the money. You should rightfully keep what profits you earned, are you going to divide thousands of dollars equally to the cashiers or stockers or to the rest of society? If we are talking about Democratic socialism 0%. The United Nations expects Sweden to be on par with your average third world country by 2030. Bernie is the soul of socialism fake, phony and a poser. He speaks passionately about the poor but buys three homes and has millions, passionately speaks of injustice but endorsed the woman who robbed his candidacy and supports things like the Federal Reserve, the TPP and wars abroad. All establishment policies. Compassion is when you devote your own time and money to the poor and needy, not trying to rob others via the government.

But in some ways Socialism is like food. It is an absolute requirement for a healthy system. Eat too little and things wither away and become weak. Eat too much and the system becomes bloated, sick and unhealthy.

The question is not “is socialism good/bad?”It’s how much do we need and what kind. Like all things....Balance.

ETA: On the other hand, there’s lots of blame to go to the wealthiest of our society. There’s no denying that the greedy assholes have bought and paid for American politicians, think tanks, and super pacs in order to shape American policy to their benefit. In fairness to the idiots pushing for Bernie, many of them have been pushed to the edge. Mortgages, Daycare prices, medical prices, college tuition, and much more have all skyrocketed in the past 20 years. It’s outpaced inflation tremendously. Those of us on the right have allowed ourselves to be used as pawns too. We’re good at recognizing that blacks have largely become a pawn for the Democrats, but us on the right never call out how much the religious zealots are used as a pawn for the Republicans. Burn the whole thing down. It’s broken. Start over.

THIS is what we need more of, from both the left and the right. Recognize that things have gone off the rails, we're all pawns, and it's on us to put the right people in power to get back to an equilibrium. Well said, TDcline.

As far as Bernie, he hasn't reached %50 in a state yet. He likely won't. He likely won't win enough delegates to win the nomination outright. I think he'll have quite a lead in delegates and will likely win the nomination to prevent blowback, not because he has the backing of democrats. Hell, he's not even a democrat.

They say the pendulum swings both ways....Bernie is the Trump equivalent on the left. It's an over-correction by many people on the left who are sick of being shite upon. I think he's bad for the party, bad for the country, and will hurt down-ballot candidates. But if I have to choose between he and Trump, like a lot of people, I'll pull the trigger for Bernie. He's bad, but he's not Trump bad.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, Bernie has proposed will ever pass in Congress. I just want a sane person with access to the nukes and handling our foreign affairs, preferably someone who doesn't run the government like it's a fricking crime syndicate as Trump has done.

Bernie is definitely an idiot. A wealth tax is pretty stupid... But there are too many loopholes in the system and it should be easier to navigate... but that would put too many tax accountants and tax prepareres out of business... Inefficiencies keep them employed.
