One is Cleco utility that distributes electricity.
This is the one up for sale.

The other is Cleco Power.
This was bought a few years ago, by Kindle Energy, and called Pelican Power.
NextEra has been sniffing around CLECO for over a year now.

Please don’t sell to Entergy.
Why would you not like gods gift of electric power provider Entergy to take over Cleco?
Entergy looks to be cheaper than Cleco, based on the other thread.
Of course I am just kidding, we all know Entergy is the thorn in most people’s existence in Southeast Louisiana.
We know how bad they can be with outages and piss poor maintenance on poles that should have been replaced decades ago.
Entergy is one of Louisiana’s only Fortune 500 companies left and they know how butter the politicians bread in the state legislature and the crooks on Public Service Commission.
They do just enough keep the lights on at a reasonable rate. Every once in a while they come up with some crazy plan like buying nuclear power plants all across the country to manage and sell power in those regions for pure profit. Sometimes those schemes sour when liberals in the northeast turn a blind eye to nuclear power and force those plants to decommission instead of extending the licenses like at its Louisiana and Mississippi plants, ending the cash cow they once had.
