I am obsessed with my Echo.
Coolest thing I own I think. She called me an uber, re-ordered something from Amazon, answered a bunch of questions, played music, woke me up this morning with a news briefing and the weather, ordered us pizza, etc.
Thing is AWESOME.

Alexa is now in my wife's bathroom... where I don't have to hear her

My father in law is a brilliant mechanical engineer (NASA retired) and he was quizzing it for a couple of hours and was nailing some hard questions.
Also, certain things require activating a "skill" on the app like "bartender".

It seemed to me that almost every person I asked IRL said they got an echo, dot or the tap thing for Christmas. The 32 downvotes must be a lie.
BTW I love my echo. I set up so I can ask it what are my sports updates and it will give me news on LSU FB and BB, Saints and Pels. Also I spent about twenty minutes asking it to tell me a joke. Most of them were corny dad jokes.
WHy in the Frick did this thread, about a Christmas present, get anchored but a thread about interviewing some dude, that is always wrong about everything, didn't get anchored?

Because my mom has one and every time I go over to her house she asks it 100 questions it doesn't have the answer to. I'm like mom, please just leave Alexa alone.
