quote:

e man had been angry with his two sons for some time and did not want them to inherit any of his life savings totaling 219,000 yuan, which is the equivalent of about $36,000. Now this sort of thing happens all the time. Many miserable twats are undeserving of another penny from their parents and get no inheritance money from them. However, it is the way in which Tao stuck it to these two brats that is bad arse.

quote:

As he was getting older and unable to perform manual labor Tao gave his farm to his two sons and moved to the city to take a job collecting trash. In recent years as his health declined he asked both of his sons if he could live with one of them. They both came up with different excuses resulting in a “no.”

quote:

After he passed away and his body was sent to be cremated he had a man show up to carry out his final wishes. $36,000 in cash was placed inside the furnace with his body and burned as his two sons waited outside.

Be nice to your parents.

He was pissed.

I'd say he was pretty hot about it and got fired up over it.

ETA: dammit.

Even if they'd gotten the yuan, they'd just want more an hour later

Why do I have a feeling that the cash didn't get burnt?

I imagine neither of his sons wanting to help take care of him was a big slap in the face. Especially in asian culture where I think its the norm for the kids to take care of the parents when they get older.

I feel the same. I doubt it got burned.

Pretty sure a man showed up with a small bag full of Monopoly money or newspaper clippings and then went to Hong Kong or Macau to coke and whore it up.

This.

A piece of the Conversation with the Cremator:

"Oh sure, sure, I PROMISE I will have all your honourable cash monies on your person when we put you stiffy-stiff in hot box for final firing. You can trust me because I never lie and I always tell truth."

The unknown man left with the $36,000.
