The basic camouflage paint color selections were coded in English, not Engrish:

BR= Brown
BL= Blue

They wanted Brown but the though it was coded BR ("brue") and this is what they ended up with, blue cammy.

The few Chinese people I know are incredibly grateful to the US for saving their arse in WWII. And they still hate the Japanese.

What's ironic is that it was not the Communists who played a major role in fighting the Japanese in WWII, it was the Nationalists. Then when the war was over, they swept in and took over. The Nationalists did most of the fighting against the Japanese.

To be fair the Nationalist didn't do a lot of fighting of the Japanese...Peanut was a pretty incompetent leader which is why he got his arse kicked by Mao when WW2 ended.

The Chinese govt still produces tons of anti-Japanese movies and shows that cover fighting in WW2. They definitely don't let their people forget what happened.

They did far more fighting than the Communists and played a far more important role in actually defeating the Japanese than Mao and the Communists.

Norinco is in charge of building China's new main battle tank. Seen here:

Pretty much a copy of the Abrams. Now, my first gun was a Browning SA-22 but mine was a special Grade III version that wasn't going to arrive on time so my dad got me a Norinco copy of the Browning so I'd have something to open on my birthday. Long story short the gun was a piece of shite that broke in the first 30 minutes. I have no doubt their tanks are the same quality.

I think we're gonna be okay here.

This appears to be an updated version of their Type 99 which itself is basically an up-armored copy of the Russian T-72 / T-90 family. Suspension looks the same, gun appears to be the same 125mm, sighting & fire control looks the same. Really the only difference is the side skirts.

ETA: Here's a good picture of their Type 99....

If you've studied tanks for any amount of time, you can see it's nothing more than a glorified T-72.

ETA: And here's the original Soviet T-72....

Those tanks have to be some of the most blocky outdated looking weaponry in existence.

Their Tpye 99 is a decent tank, still not on the same level as the Anerican Abrams, British Challenger, or German Leopard though. The blue one in the parade though wouldn't stand a chance.
