Does this look like a gun in his hand as his turns towards the officer?

Do you wait to find out or shoot first?

If you see a gun at any moment when he stops, do you wait to find out he did indeed have a gun after he fires it?

No one wants to put their feet in the cops shoes and make a split second decision, whether he goes home or dies. They just want to critique as if they know how that moment feels like.

My opinion, don’t run, don’t carry a gun because you might get shot on accident or on purpose. But everyone is a gangster until they’re 6ft under.

I feel zero sympathy for the criminal, thug, animal, dead person, whatever. Played the game, and the game won.

If the cop didnt see him ditch it, the only way I would hold it against the cop for not lighting his arse up is if the kid hit the ground belly down hands spread and he shot him like that

Cop signed up for it. Afraid of being shot? Find a new job. Can’t keep your cool under pressure? Find a new job. Can’t properly assess a threat before discharging your weapon? Find a new job. You don’t just get to kill who you want because you’re scared of the job you chose.

Kid had a gun. How is a cop supposed to determine his age in the heat of the moment?

I blame the parent(s).

I’m not reading 20 pages of this, is this kid white? It’s hard to tell in the only picture I’ve seen.

It doesn’t matter, I’m just surprised to see this response if he is.

That is about the most ignorant response. The fact that you believe what you just wrote is an example of this clown world we live in.

Don’t follow the law, Don’t comply, carry a unregistered gun....don’t get shot by the guy who signed up to protect the normal citizens from pieces of shite.

You can side with the idiot with the gun. But he’s dead because of his own actions and life he chose. Just like you said...he doesn’t want to be shot, chose a normal life.

Already underpaid
Already understaffed
Already hated
Already having budgets cut

Yet you seem to think we can staff our nations law enforcement offices with only extremely well trained, mistake free super soldiers

Why haven’t you been the agent of change you want and become a cop?

At the moment below, as the criminal who was part of a gun crime who fled turns and faces the officer with a gun in his hand, the officer has two choices

1. Don’t shoot. Which could lead to him being killed, or the criminal getting arrested and everyone goes home

2. Shoot. Criminal dies or is wounded

I don’t think the law says nor common sense says the cop should have to leave the fate of his life in the criminals hands in option 1

Milliseconds to make the decision once the criminal does the below .

did the kid toss the gun or not?

thats the main question before drawing any conclusions

the gun looks a good 5-6 feet from where he died which suggests that he def did toss it but im open-minded to be convinced otherwise

Then don’t yell to stop and put your hands up if you’re going to shoot him regardless.

Think about this for a moment.

He’s holding a gun and he was running. Only to stop with the gun still in his hand. frick everyone, I’m making it home. Let the internet think what they want. You’re dead.
