Spend a few extra bucks and get a Tacoma if you’re going mid size route.

I chose the Silverado over the Colorado last year and I’m glad I did. MPG is almost the same on the highway. The only people I see driving Colorado trucks are retired guys and lesbians.

you’ll be right back to a full sized truck in no time. Don’t do it

My friend got the diesel 4wd version. Loves it.

Taco comes in fourth out of four in comparison tests.

And the Winner Is …
Toyota Tacoma
It’s a close contest, but the Toyota Tacoma’s status as our top-ranked compact pickup truck tells the story. The Tacoma leads the pack with class-leading reliability and excellent safety scores, and its superior interior features help seal the deal. However, the Chevrolet Colorado is also a great choice, and if you prioritize affordability, efficiency, or towing capacity, you can’t go wrong with the Chevy.

Colorado is a good truck. Actually the top ranked in its class by Car and Driver.
They ranked it higher than the Ridgeline, Ranger, or that Jeep Pickup.

It’s the oldest design in its class other than the Frontier.

Colorado
Taco was fourth.
As I said, it's a shitbox. Do not care what "usnews" says in a truck review.
"In last place is the supremely disappointing Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma is all hat and no cattle; it looks fantastic, but whether you haul air or hay, it's let down by a cramped cabin, narrow bed, grabby brakes, and an engine and transmission that work in tandem about as well as a pack of cats and dogs."
Motor Trend
"Looks fantastic" is debatable. I think it's ugly as hell like most asian trucks.

Nice trucks but this current generation is getting up there in age. At this point I’d wait for the next.

I have a Silverado. Had a Colorado rental while truck was getting bumper fixed.
Colorado was very uncomfortable. Really a shite truck compared to Silverado.

The "new" Ranger essentially debuted in 2011.
With a truck I would hardly call a 4 year old design that is still best in class "up in age".

This. Two New years ago, I saw a dude bragging about his Silverado he got (on here), and started calling dealers to see if I could go from a '15 to a '17 Silverado. My truck was paid off and I always got offers through the mail to upgrade.
Ended up getting a solid offer on the phone, so we headed to the dealer. On the way, my wife was browsing their vehicles and saw a 17 Colorado. I was kinda pissed she was trying to get in on this too. Anyways, I got my 17 Silverado and she got the 17 Colorado. Of course, the Silverado was larger so she drove that because of the kids.
At first I didn't mind the Colorado and we got a great deal on it compared to the others since it was an Indy 500 promo truck and had more incentives. But... about a week of driving it, it got very uncomfortable. Don't forget this is a pimped out one with a lot of options, and I'm a shorter guy too. Just didn't like it, ended up trading it off for a civic as a more economic vehicle. Fun truck, sweet looking, holds value, but not for me.
