Everyone thinks they want true equality, until the computers show you what true equality looks like.

Because 3.5 isn’t as good and these accountants are trying to show that their job isn’t about to be taken over by a machine.

Accounting is one of the jobs that could realistically be taken over by AI first.

I legit almost added a “this is not ChatGPT” disclaimer when I typed that.

No, (maybe sadly) it’s just me.

This was also written with ChatGPT...

GPT-4’s training dataset consisted of about 570 GB of text data. It also continues to train itself through interactions with users. While that’s a lot of text data, it’s nowhere near what I would call “massive.” At least not in the way you’re thinking.

Then if I ask it who had the better season in 2022, Pat Mahomes or Joe Burrow, how does it respond with a comparison of their stats and a judgment? Are there stats contained in the 570 GB somewhere? Does it store data from other conversations? Or am I not talking with Chat GPT and I'm misunderstanding what program I'm interacting with?

That is because accounting is largely bullshite. I work with one everyday of my life. From what I can tell GAAP guidelines are like the Bible. It so open to interpretation that you can justify damn near anything.

Does it actually do this? If so, it’s probably what they call a “hallucination.” This is when the AI gives seemingly confident answers that are completely fabricated, and it’s an ongoing issue with large language models. The OpenAI folks have said that they’re working on that issue.

Easiest way to find out if it’s a hallucination is to simply Google the stats yourself. Are they correct?

Unlikely. The GPT-4 dataset stopped in 2021.

Yes and it uses those conversations to continue its training. I don’t know what the odds are of it learning 2022 NFL stats for specific players, though.

I’m not sure how to answer this.
