That's how healthcare works in that county
Are you just not reading the thread or what?
I'm asking, besides the shitty system, why should anyone have a say in how a family uses private funds to treat their child?
It is not an emotional response to this child's death. It's a legit question.

If you don't understand the concept of a Country, then I am done arguing with you.

Insurance companies refuse treatment in the US after a certain point. This isn't an uncommon practice here either.
Except insurance companies don't have the power to prevent parents from seeking treatment elsewhere on their own dime.
Fact of life is that under any system possible, some people will die due to lack of funds or resources. The difference is that under a free market system, people can make choices for their healthcare, whereas under a socialist system, whatever the government says must go.

Ok, you're going to just keep playing the stupid card. Got it.

Because medical experts stated it numerous times. People just choose to ignore it. There was no indication medical treatment would help his condition.
There were other medical experts that said it was worth a shot. Everyone knows that it would have been a highly experimental treatment with a very low chance at success. That was no reason for the parents to be denied an attempt at it. If the parents decided to end Charlie's suffering I can understand that. But it is no place for the government to step in and make this decision.

They also stated it would be cruel to make Charlie endure any travel and treatment. I agree with them. I am 100% for treating him if it would give him a somewhat normal life. I am also 100% against allowing someone to do any treatments that would make his situation worse.

There is a condition worse than death? Interesting.
And again, who are you to make this determination for other people?

You know what is even more cruel? Letting him die.
I'm willing to bet that Charlie (and his parents) would have accepted the risk and stress it required to move him.

The doctors made that decision. The court didn't order the doctors to cease care. Doctors decided it was in the best interests of the patient to stop treatment and appealed to the courts for permission to do so, which was granted over the parents' objections.

How convenient for them that they would say this about a treatment which they cannot provide.

How does anyone know how future treatments will work unless they are tried? The treatment in question has shown to reverse effects and extend lives in other children with similar, but not the same, mitochondrial diseases.

Brain damaged and unable to move, breathe, eat, see, or hear.

Government doctors. So, the government. Your statements don't refute my point.

Nonsense.

So when that happens, you can pull the plug then. That still doesn't answer my question on why these people should not be able to make the choice themselves.
