Jesus Christ, I’m priced out of doing charity for fricks sake.

I just want to go out and chill and give $40-$50 to a charity I support. Not spend $200 and feel like I’m being grifted

The charity event was for you, goofy. You aren’t supposed to give anything

First off, please lay off taking the Lords name in vain. Secondly, give what you can and don’t worry about what others think. The important part is giving.

For a site that will ban people for words, I do find it interesting they don’t police this more.

$200 is cheap. The ones around here are usually $500+ for a couple and thats if you can put together a group to buy a whole table.

This site allows a lot more than you will find on other boards. I don't even like any other message board site including Reddit which all you have to do to get banned from a thread is give an opinion that people perceive as you having certain political views.

This is just my opinion, but I think intent should be considered. Words are just words. Expressions more than anything. He isn't shaming the lord, its just an expression. I think people can take the whole don't say the lords name in vein a little too literal.

Charities live to hit numbers and hid behind their moral armor. It is king for a day and not prince for a lifetime

I really don’t consider this taking the Lord’s name in vain.

To me, it’s always been about damning someone

Well I’d definitely recommend you don’t watch the Book of Mormon if that bothers you.

I recognize that lots of people have rationalized this type of use, but His name should be Hallowed above all names and using it outside of prayer is in my opinion not giving it the reverence it deserves.
