Rhinoshield is a ceramic coating and costs about 4 times as much as paint here in FL. I told them to go frick themselves. They claim their paint is so good the house will be water proof and air tight.

Has anyone repainted their stucco to change the color? I know you can't use regular exterior paint unless you plan on painting every couple years. It has to a coating that is breathable, which is offered by companies like Rhinosheild or Mid-South Coatings. Anybody know the cost per square foot? Company recommendations is appreciated as well. TIA.

We used regular latex paint. It's held up for 11 years. Probably painting next spring just to freshen it up.

I think RhinoShield is running a 25% Hokie special or something.

My parents stucco portion of their home was coated by RhinoShield several years ago and they are completely satisfied. Looking at what they paid I do not believe that the stuff is overpriced based on getting a 25 yr or however long warranty.

How do you fix the cracks after the stucco is 5 years old?

My parents painted theirs from a Maroon color to a Beige not sure of the cost though, but it definitely can be done.

You can paint it with exterior latex or elastomeric paint. The elastomeric will cover and fill hairline cracks in the stucco, preventing water intrusion.
