Censorship has gotten out of control on majority of social media sites. TD has luckily stayed a site that majority of opinions are accepted. I say majority bc unlike other sites, TD once they ban you, you can never make another account, whereas Reddit you easily can. This, I don't agree with. One controversial opinion should not ban someone from ever interacting again with the group that they consider home (whether LSU or Louisiana). That isn't right. I understand TD is also very unresponsive to unban requests.

However, I'd venture to say that 95% of posts that I try to make on Reddit get cancelled right away. Never even make it to the forum. What you see on Reddit is basicall only 5% of attempted posts that have been thoroughly vetted for political correctness. Not representative of the entire US population whatsoever. I'd say that 50% of my instagram comments get nixed right off the bat. In neither of these cases, is what I'm saying remotely offensive in any perceivable way. It could be something like "Yea I drove to Dallas and traffic was worse than usual." and there's a 50%+ chance that it gets cancelled. It's gotten absurd. I for one think that no human has any right whatsoever to censor what another says. I think that's a violation of the first amendment and their should be punishment for those that try to censor others. Fines and jail time.

Twitter has stayed pretty good about censorship. Reddit and instagram are toxic in their censorship.

Apparently, Reddit has never turned a profit in their history. I truly hope the censorship that plagues their site, ends up running their stock down now they have IPO'd. If they've been around for 20 years and have never made a profit in a year, I have a hard time seeing the share price not plummet.

To be fair, there are a lot of people out there suffering from racism. We cannot risk their feelings being hurt.

You can make another account but they basically hide all of your comments and you can’t start new threads so you’re basically banned.

Chicken, Fred and Rummy laugh at that number. There's more of a constitutional 1A freedom of speech muzzle here than those sites.

Other than porn or somebody trying to get around the NSFW rules I’d wager that less than 1% of posts get whacked a day out of 10,000+.

You could say “worse” things on X or Reddit or whatever but you can be pretty (according to the politically correct) racist, xenophobic, progressive, perverted, etc. here and not even think of getting a ban. but guidelines are clear.

It’s a right leaning board but most leftists don’t mind interjecting and their posts aren’t deleted.

Explain.

It’s a sports board. Porn doesn’t have a place here.

You think the majority of comments on a teacher sleeping with students or comments about urban crime would stand the scrutiny on most other social media platforms?

It’s become a game for me to see what I can get past the yahoo comment censors and what I can’t. It’s an immediate AI censorship. You can say something completely innocent but if it uses a word that could have another meaning, it’s usually rejected. Something like “what is this drivel” gets rejected usually.

I think he’s implying that liberals are censored more than you’re indicating in that post.

I've been banned from like 34 subreddits. I always leave a nice little message to the mod on the way out "Enjoy jacking off to hentai from your moms basement for the next 17 years of your life you green haired f*ggot." Something tasteful like that

It’s a private business and geared towards a university and conference where Chicken probably doesn’t want liability or loss of revenue, a bit different than a major platform. I don’t agree with it and usually call him a cocksucker when I get in trouble, but it’s his site.

on tigerdroppings, posts don't get removed, they just get blasted into oblivion by the overwhelmingly far right user base

This.

There was a lot of crazy in that thread, but there was also a lot of truth.

I'm pretty sure there was outside pressure to take down a thread that was driving more traffic here than the rest of the site combined.

That thread had a shitload of lurkers watching every day that never said a word.
