Oil demand growth is not set to peak until the end of this decade at the earliest and Forrest said carbon capture was not a viable solution
Peak oil production and demand has been predicted many times by various esteemed business and scientific experts. In fact there was a famous web site on the topic in the 2000’s followed by many oil industry people that predicted IIRC the mid 2010’s.
Then the shale oil boom hit and blew it to bits.
No one knows the answer to this question. Invest in significant nuclear power energy distribution and cut U.S. carbon emissions in half is but one doable example.
But everyone has their own sacred cow which can’t be touched. This guy is just another example.

Interesting paper, more differential equations than most. But the real issue is the energy balance which is not covered. The energy balance will always be a loosing proposition

The idiots who are saying it’s fake and doesn’t work just hate oil and gas companies and are pushing an agenda.
I love the oil and gas industry and I’m saying it’s fake as an applicable solution (to a fake problem) It may work in theory.

The whole thing is a huge lie.

The strong nuclear force releases enough energy to lift 5620 pounds between just two protons. We have the technology to use that energy safely and it’s carbon free. It’s proven technology. Use it.

One of many papers on the topic
I’ve done some back of the napkin economics on the sequestration of CO2 via a solution of calcium hydroxide to precipitate calcium carbonate, and thus sequester the co2. Its cost prohibitive unless you have an almost free source of calcium hydroxide.
