I think it's still simple burglary so the same as breaking into an unoccupied house. I bet a lot of them get pled down though. Maybe one of our lawyer posters can confirm or deny this.

BRPD caught the black guy burglarizing cars in Kenilworth last night. At least one mofo is back in jail for now at least.

Yeah let’s spend more money on this than the car costs.

Eliminating cars makes more objective sense than that.

Yep that's right dick cheese. You are careless with your valuables and are hoping that the shitbirds of society won't come into your hood and steal said valuables from your car. It's like a ln annoying stray dog. If you feed the stray dog, he keeps coming around. Quit feeding the dog.

I actually agree with this 100%. Arguing about who's "fault" it is, is a child's thought process. You know the problem and the solution, yet you don't give a shite enough to prevent the problem. They are looking for least resistance with the best payout, if your neighborhood doesn't produce a profit, they don't come back. If doors are locked, they don't come back.

They'll start breaking into houses if that happens. Should we eliminate them next?

A few treble hooks in the right spots should do the trick.

You think no one has ever been shot during a break in?

Bless your heart.

I gave eliminating cars as an absurd example for effect. Even my absurd example makes more math sense.

Don’t respond to him. He’s a barista and walks to work in the garden district.

We should try to eliminate the behavior through harsh punishment. Marijuana is a victimless crime. Smashing someone's car window and stealing their property is not. We should make examples out of people that do this.

Which part about your idea attracts you more—the fact that it is way harder to pull off than my absurd example, or the fact that it’s way more expensive than my absurd example?

I'd let most non violent drug offenders out of prison and punish crimes with victims much more harshly. I'd be willing to bet my idea would be cheaper than what we are doing now.

Well that’s a wash since in my absurd example we also let these people out of prison.

So this is why I maintain that your idea is silly and poorly thought out. It’s more costly than banning cars.

Stealing is something that every race does. It’s a morality issue. Even God had to tell his own people not to do it.

Just an observation: I find it uncanny how testy motorists get when bicycles are brought up.
