But even if you're not, the dawn of man originated in Africa, and I will pray for all of you.

Negative. I can trace my lineage back into the 1300s or so. We have some Indians about 140 years ago, but it's a whole lot of german, french, and Irish for a long time.

Why is it always 1/8 black or 1/2 black. Why can't it be 7/8 white or 1/2 white, the discrimination needs to stop

Nick Young meme, please.

Some threads on here leave me puzzled like a mofo.

My aunt is white as a ghost, but I think she's at least 5/8 black.

Carry on...

All I know is you South Louisiana baws better be careful. If that 1/8 black woman puts cycle blood in your spaghetti, you can forget about it. You'll be having little beige, curly haired children in no time...

No mulatto was 1/2 black 1/2 white. In New Orleans there were several categories.

quote:

Quadroons, Octoroons, Sacatra, and Griffe (page 72) These descriptions are used in The Kingdom of This World to identify individuals of varying mixtures of race. A Quadroon was half mulatto and half white, or one fourth black. An octoroon was the child of a quadroon and a white, so their blood was one fourth black at most. However, oftentimes any black blood in a person's lineage was enough to identify them as black, and/or a slave. A Griffe was half black and half mulatto, so they were at least three fourths black. A Sacatra was half Griffe and half black. Other identifications used included Metif (same as Octoroon), Meamelouc (half white and half Metif), Quarteron (half Meamelouc and half white), Sangmele (half quarteron and half white), and Mango (half Griffe and half black). This was the origin of the black stereotype "Sambo" - as Sambo was the word for a child of a mulatto and a black, or a Griffe child.

All I know is that Louisiana has several black people who look more white than some of the PWT I see when I go back home.
