Can you care about someone and not give a shite about their opinion?

It’s an interesting philosophical opinion. My close family has a family member who they have absolutely no respect for their opinion. We still love them but don’t take anything they say seriously because they’re...... unwilling to be rational about basic issues human fundamentals. i.e. my entire family visited my grandmother for Christmas at our aunts (who invited us) and she freaked out and said only my dad should have been invited and the rest of the family shouldn’t be so presumptive to think it’s acceptable to visit our aunt’s house

We still want to visit her and provide for her. But that’s the exact opposite of what she wants.
