I disagree.
The best part of those threads are the first several replies which are usually zingers. funniest part of the threads.
Placing them all in one thread means it won't get read and if it does it will be lost in the shuffle of page 6 or 7.

I think part of it is the nature of the news cycle nowadays. Good things get ignored while bad things make the headlines. The old saying about "if it bleeds, it leads" is very true.
