But it doesn't need to get to 12%. Go look at a pressure treated pine 6x6 from Home Depot. It will be 25-30%. Some of them that just came out of the cylinder will literally be wet to the touch.

Yep, used some to replace post on the front of my house. Need to replace two that twisted. Those are 8x8's.

It’s green wood will dry and move BUT you live in a wet arse humid environment it will move but not as much as most people profess. It will be fine

Have you both considered that you live in wildly different humidities

Fish that oak beam I got from you I used for four bed legs. 9x9 posts 34 inches in length. They have been in a room where the AC has never been turned off except for hurricanes in the last 6 years.

I'd still consider them not bone dry

so they won’t be dry when you put them up,,,,if you don’t want twist, cupping, splitting, you should consider going buy some that are either kiln dried or old salvage,,,,,factor in the costs of the house vs what it will cost you to buy the right stuff,,,,,it’s literally less than 1% of the total costs,,,,probably less and you won’t be disappointed
