Incorrect. Check out with a visa just like at Walmart. They don't look at the card to see the name. You just stick in the machine.
They'll scan the Costco card through the plexi glass and not so much as glance at the picture.

If you are that cheap you can buy a membership, make your purchase and then just get a refund on your membership. I don't even know what it costs for a membership, the gas is worth it, I rarely set foot in the store, but when I do I am usually saving a couple hundred bucks vs shopping elsewhere.
