Can Dogs Sniff Out Queen Ants?

After it rains ant piles usually pop in the higher areas of my yard (like anywhere else). There are certain areas in my back yard where they usually always pop up, but the day after it rains, one of my dogs (she is a mixed terrier) goes right out to the areas where they usually pop up, she will sniff around and start to dig.
At first I would stop her, but then one day she had already dug enough she had her nose all in the ground and I thought I saw her drop, what looked like a queen ant, then picked it back up and ate it. Over time I started to noticed their would be less ant piles.. And at times no ant hills.
Someone was at my house and we were sitting, bullshitting in the backyard and I told them that over in a certain area I used to always get ant piles, but my dogs sniffs out the queen ant and there is rarely any more ant piles there. He was laughing and telling me there was no way my dog was sniffing out queen ants..
Am I insane for thinking this? Like I said, I am pretty sure I saw her with a queen ant once and there is a reason that all of a sudden I started having, at the most, an ant pile every once in awhile opposed to several popping up every time it rained.

I was just outside with my dogs and she was in that area digging a little with her nose to the ground sort of pecking at shite.. So it is fresh on my mind.

So that is what causes dogs to have a strong sense of smell?

Do you really think your dog dug down in the middle of a fire ant pile and ate the queen? Is that what you're saying?

Even for you, this is fricking retarded.

Why do we have to hear your life story every fricking day??????? Please STFU. Nobody cares if your dog is so stupid that it will bury its nose in a pile of fire ants.
