Can a man legitimately decide to never settle down?

I was once told a story about an elderly gentlemen who only kept a dinner jacket in his kitchen.

Is it sustainable?

I'm the type of guy who will never settle down
Where pretty girls are well, you know that I'm around
I kiss 'em and I love 'em 'cause to me they're all the same
I hug 'em and I squeeze 'em they don't even know my name
They call me the wanderer, yeah the wanderer
I roam around around around

Sure. It happens a lot more often than you think.

Depends what you want out of life, but sure, it’s possible.

No he'll die and then that's it. Sustainability is the one thing you are forgoing. You sustain by reproducing and cultivating a legacy. Traditionally it was only considered legitimate if you served a higher purpose, like a monk or priest. Nowadays you can do it for your own self and society doesn't care. But no you will not be sustained.

It depends. Are you good with being the old guy in the club?

Are you in my deer camp, cause there’s a lot of men that are just single and do what they F’ing want… kind of not me, happily married, but listening to what these guys do, and how they travel, hunt, fish, and just gave up on being tied down, doesn’t seem so bad.

I would prefer having a family, but this isn't terrible. I work, yeah, but my free time is completely mine. I can fish, hike, camp, hunt, and take ladies out as I please. But I think that freedom is a poor substitute for being the head of a family. Luckily, I don't have a biological clock, so this isn't a permanent sentence.

They don't it be like it is, but it do.

Chances are you're gonna frick your kid(s) up at whatever age you have them but you can't frick up grandkids because they aren't yours.

At least I hope that's how this shite pans out.

I’m 32, single, and have pretty much no desire to get locked down at any point in the future. Make enough money to do whatever I want really (not OT rich but do well enough), and it’s awesome being able to do things on a whim without having to ask anyone if it’s ok Couldn’t be happier honestly.

If I decide Friday at noon I wanna hop in my boat and head south to go fishing, I’m on the road by 12:30 without having to worry about asking “permission” or leaving anyone behind. 9/10 times when I try to invite other people it’s always the same “my wife won’t let me” or other BS. I’d say only downside is when all your friends get married or have kids and no one does anything fun anymore, but it’s not too terrible if you have the right hobbies.

Some of you people are so obsessed with 'cultivating a legacy', I promise the world will go on without your gene pool
