Not everyone wants to play the glass game. Just depends on what he wants. For a family camera that you'll want to travel with, multiple lenses will end up being a hassle and eventually get left at home.

With guts similar to a Sony A9 but $3,000 cheaper, hard to ignore. Not arguing that it's best-in-class, just best-in-segment. If you need something for family use where the wife can pick it up and just use it... or looking for something to travel with and get fantastic quality photo and video, this is almost a no-brainer.
