Came across a pretty good podcast on the Ticketmaster lawsuit

Nutshell: 40 states and FTC sued Ticketmaster/Livenation for antitrust issues. Ticketmaster was looking really bad at trial when suddenly the FTC settled. Turns out Ticketmaster hired Kellyann Conway and some other Trumpsters and voila, the Justice Department called off the dogs. 7 states joined the FTC settlement. Judge was mad. 33 states slogged on and won a huge victory at trial. Now the case is going to the damages and remedy phase.
Hell, a Ticketmaster exec was bragging about price gouging. Barclays showed retaliation when it didn't play ball. Good case.
The New York Times had a pretty good podcast Friday with the reporter who covered the trial.

I stay away from them. I am not paying $100 for a $59 ticket. There are other ways to see events.
Just like everything else in the world, they got too greedy.

What was Louisiana’s position?

Well, suppose a band wants to go old school. Sell tickets at the box office only, no online stuff. Not going to happen thanks to TM-LN

Louisiana did the right thing and stayed in the lawsuit, rejecting the FTC.
As you will hear in the podcast, the judge was pretty angry as the feds caved. He put a hard deadline, and a quick one at that, for the states to join in. 33 states kept going. Good thing they did.

Ticketmaster wanted 140.00 a ticket to Bailey Zimmerman in Baton Rouge good Friday.
I called and friend who lives in Baton Rouge to go by the Canes Center and pick them up. Instead of 140.00 a ticket i paid 89.00 a ticket. I don't mind TM making money but not that much per ticket that craziness.
