When I read the tread title I thought it was a joke, smh.

Edit: read a little of the thread, it is a joke. I feel better a least, I was hoping society hasn’t got that stupid.

Cat 1 or less winds by the time highest winds reach Cali. Their bigger concerns should be the effects of rainfall.

California, will now ask for more money to fight climate change even though they got hit by a hurricane in 1939.

It’s all about the money.

Serious question to anyone who downvoted this: why? I would honestly like to know why this is offensive to anyone. California encourages and facilates tent cities, which is ridiculous on its face but if a hurricane is coming it's both ridiculous and a life safety issue. This deserves scorn.

I didn't downvote, but as a general rule, people don't like "satire" that punches down. And you can't punch much further down than mocking homeless people who have a natural disaster headed their way. Add that this is a Louisiana based message board, and you have a significant percentage of users who have been harmed by hurricanes. Combine the two, and even in the "hurr durr California sucks" echo chamber that is TD, you're going to have a decent number of people who find this kind of "humor" to be in poor taste.

Wonder what's causing ALL the issues?

Hint: not Republicans

I fly all the time wearing LSU shirts and mostly people from California ask if I am from Louisiana. After confirming that I am from Louisiana they then ask: Why we are so dumb to live where hurricanes hit yearly and then ask for free money to rebuild? So, if California gets a tropical storm causing mudslides and the ask for free money to rebuild I will smile. I will then be able to tell them that only in California is mud considered a natural disaster because every where else we just add big tires to our trucks and play in the mud.

Storm may not impact San Francisco, but plenty of tent cities in El Lay.
