On the surface, I like the idea of financial status not determining whether you sit in jail or not.
However, I'm interested to see how the system is implemented.
Manafort would not be sitting in jail for a month pretrial under that system. And it precludes essentially fining someone only accused and not proven guilty (yet) in most instances. Now the strongarm tactics against those without bail funds changes: can't be forced into a plea bargain to avoid indefinite jailing while the DA delays repeatedly.

Sounds like the people getting out of jail will be the same ones that would of gotten low bail rates and gotten out of jail anyway, while the violent offenders will just sit in jail instead of getting these high bails that no one does anyway.

go ahead and give guys that beat their wives or girlfriends that chance to finally get the job done and become murderers.

This is absolute truth. Especially bc law enforcement and courts are so corrupt and couldn't care less about constitutional rights.
Walker has court once a month, if you're arrested for an outstanding traffic violation you could spend a month in jail for it. They turn their tickets over to a collection agency and the price goes from $150 to $2000. And they'll set your bond to cash only for outrageous amounts.
