Buying Vehicle Out of State from a private party (non-dealer) Louisiana

I live in Louisiana, and I am looking to buy a vehicle in TX. The information on the DMV website is scattered all over, so I bring my question here.
What paperwork/information will I need to make it happen? Do I pay both LA and TX tax?
TIA

Negative.
Get a signed bill of sale. Signed title. Copy of seller's ID.
The end.
No notary needed for TX or MS purchases.
You pay tax at your local DMV.

Everything Rando said except you have to get a notary. I know because I just did this twice in the last 2 months.

Are vehicles cheaper in Texas and Mississippi?

They can be. More option in Texas for sure.
Thanks for the replies.

No notary needed if buying from Texas or Mississippi.
Both are non notary states.

Did it last week with a signed title and a copy of sellers drivers license.

Copy of sellers out of state drivers license is a must!

REQUIREMENTS All vehicles purchased from out-of-state dealers of non-notary states are exempt from notarization. A Louisiana resident, buying a vehicle from non-resident of Louisiana, must provide one of the following documents as proof that the seller is a non-resident. Documentation submitted that is notarized by an out-of-state notary Photocopy of the seller's out-of-state driver’s license/identification card Notarized affidavit to verify the seller's out-of-state residency. NOTE If proof of out-of-state residency cannot be provided, it must be assumed that the seller is a resident of the State of Louisiana and is required to pay road use taxes. A double transfer must be processed and both sets of taxes must be collected. An affidavit of non-residency or a copy of the seller's out of state driver's license/identification card will be accepted as proof residency. REQUIREMENTS FOR BUSINESS ENTITIES Transfers of vehicles titled in the name of a company will not require further documentation if the invoice/bill of sale is on company letterhead indicating the address. If letterhead is not used for the invoice and the company is incorporated, checking the Louisiana Secretary of State corporation database will determine if the corporation has established an office in Louisiana. If the company is not incorporated, a statement on company letterhead verifying non-residence in Louisiana will suffice. Some companies have locations established in several states and may bring a surplus vehicle to another location for re-sale. In this instance, a notarized statement from an authorized agent of the company verifying the vehicle has not been used on Louisiana highways and was brought to the Louisiana location for re-sale purposes only must be submitted.
I found it. Good info.

Doesn’t matter, better safe than sorry. The bank will usually do it for free

There's nothing to be safe or sorry about
The reason I buy vehicles from those states is because of the limited amount of paperwork required.
Louisiana agrees to adhere to the rules of the state the vehicle was acquired from.

Purchased my last 2 from a Katy Tx. dealership. I got much better deals and didn't even argue the prices.
