A rabbit is someone else who is speeding - you tuck behind them at a safe distance. You let them get the ticket. Or at the very least, if you have a detector and a cop has instant-on, you’ll detect him zapping the rabbit in front of you.
But you can’t follow your rabbit too closely - cause if you both pass the cop before he can pull onto the road for pursuit, you’re now the closer vehicle for him to catch.

yes, thats why they make them with a GPS so you can lock out false signals and it remembers the location to not alert you again.

Wrong. This is only the case if he is using straight laser. Which in that case you are screwed either way.

Sounds to me like you have only owned a cheap cobra from Walmart. Try going with an Escort Radar, best on the market IMO.
