Personally, I think it will be permanent. A vaccine may ultimately be developed, but I think this experience will forever change what is "normal". Also, everyone will be waiting and watching for the next pandemic.

I don't think so but I think it'll be some time before that industry recovers. Conventions are mostly about going to eat and get hammered on your vendor's dime anyway. That's not going away

Nah. Unless the students are all furnished with a PC, which would be cheaper than maintaining a massive school building, there's no way it will work. Not all kids have the access to online at home, which means you still have a classroom to maintain.
Also, kids don't have the self discipline and their parents don't have the time to monitor them constantly for online schooling.
Some things are just better in person, and school is one of them.

This doesn't account for all the parents who dump sick kids at school as they supposedly don't have the means to stay home from work. Gotta keep schools running as affordable daycare.
