His brother, James David Cain, was a longtime state rep and senator who still has powerful friends.
Between the two of them, they know enough people to get this swept under the rug.
They are both fairly crooked.

. They're no more crooked than any other politician in this state. They just deal with larger portfolios. Crooked is crooked.

They should have been looking for the drugs.
Or maybe they did, and realized you aren't putting half of corrections in jail, two governors, three senators, all while the movie concerning the biggest patsy on earth is in production.
