Buried treasure spin off: Anyone ever gone searching for the Fenn Treasure?

The Fenn Treasure is a treasure reportedly worth over a million dollars supposedly hidden by art dealer and author Forrest Fenn in the Rocky Mountains. Fenn has said he is going to go back and get it when the value is inflated to 10 million dollars. When asked why he created the treasure hunt, Fenn said he "just wanted to give people some hope."
According to Fenn, many people have claimed to have found the treasure, but no one has provided any evidence to him supporting their claim. As of July 2017, Fenn has stated "The treasure remains where I hid it about 7 years ago". In May 2017, Fenn was asked: "Has anyone determined the nine clues and what they represent?" and his response was: "I don't know that anybody has told me the clues in the right order", leading to speculation all of the clues have been solved, but the chest remains hidden. Forrest reconfirmed searchers have been within 200 feet (60 m) of the treasure and many within 500 feet (150 m). The Thrill of the Chase and Too Far to Walk books chronicle Fenn's life as an adrenaline junkie and the treasure hunt has attracted many thrill seekers.
He gave 9 clues in a poem that when put in the correct order will lead to the treasure.
quote:
As I have gone alone in there
And with my treasures bold,
I can keep my secret where,
And hint of riches new and old.
Begin it where warm waters halt
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it’s no place for the meek,
The end is ever drawing nigh;
There’ll be no paddle up your creek,
Just heavy loads and water high.
If you’ve been wise and found the blaze,
Look quickly down, your quest to cease,
But tarry scant with marvel gaze,
Just take the chest and go in peace.
So why is it that I must go
And leave my trove for all to seek?
The answers I already know,
I’ve done it tired, and now I’m weak.
So hear me all and listen good,
Your effort will be worth the cold.
If you are brave and in the wood
I give you title to the gold.
Four people have died looking for the treasure.
It is somewhere in the Rockies, north of Santa Fe, in one of four states: NM, CO, WY, MT.
Anyone gone looking for the treasure or know anyone who has?

A fried of his claims to have seen the chest with the treasure in it. He did not see where Fenn placed it.

I'll be doing some backpacking in a few areas in the search zone this summer. I've never been into this kind of treasure hunt shite before but was thinking it would be funny if I am digging a cat hole and stumble across a gold box.
If I had to narrow it down I would guess NM Sangre de Cristos or WY Winds/Yellowstone.

So I was sitting at the restaurant bar in Island View casino about three weeks ago and I overheard the couple next to me ask the bartender how come the normal bartender wasn’t working and she said he went to find some buried treasure. Their only followup question was “oh really? Where?” She said somewhere in the Rockies and said he had gotten some clues and turned in his two weeks notice but then decided he couldn’t wait two weeks and just quit. Said he had been gone about a week so far and nobody had heard from him.

I wish the guy hadn't hidden the alleged treasure, and from some recent statements, I think he regrets it too. It just sends idiots tromping around in the backcountry for the wrong reasons. He claims it's hidden in plain sight but that hasnt stopped people from digging holes and destroying things.

In the 80's - 90's my Stepdad would take us out to the banks of Lake Maurepas and we would look for Small Treasures.... mostly antique bottles. Many, many, many moons ago, the Shoreline of Lake Maurepas used to be littered with Merchfants, Saloons, and Homes. They are long gone now and buried under years of sediment and other debris washed up from the Hurricanes of Summers past. I haven't been back since I was a kid but over several years of bottle hunting, we collected close to 1,000 or more antique bottles, some very rare and worth a little bit of change.

I would start off looking in his neighbors yard.
ETA: yes we’ve all heard about this a time or two.

The order seems fairly easy to figure out but I'm not familiar with the region so I don't know the landmarks. But seems you would put a raft in a river on a mountain somewhere where the water goes from cold to warm, below the house of Brown. Assuming Brown is referring to a name and not color of the house. You then go down into a canyon through heavy Rapids and look for whatever the blaze might be.

I searched the fire hole river area in Yellowstone.
I looked everywhere I could through the windows of my snow coach.
