this seems prett badass...

on an overnight trip, what do you typically bring with you?

will they care if you bring a case of beer?

Most camping spots along the river are gravel or rock so bring a pad ofr under your sleeping bag.

Dont bring any glass. The Rangers will def. look through your ice chest. I was busted 1 year for having a bottle of Panola.

I got busted by a ranger for a bottle of Steen's. Probably the same guy.

Good trip. I think some scenery from legends of the fall was filmed there if I’m not mistaken.

History of the Buffalo. In 1972, Congress named the The Buffalo National River as the country's first national river.

Definitely my favorite float out of all the local rivers. There's no trash, beautiful women(in the busy months), great fishing, and beautiful scenery.

They only care if it's in glass, because they don't want broken glass in the river. Every vessel needs its own trash bag (mesh bag, like oranges come in) and you don't have be wearing it, but they expect you to have a life vest in the boat with you, too.

Oh, I understand why I got the ticket. It just seemed a bit much and to be honest. The damned bottle just got past me in one of the gear bags. The Buffalo is so pristine, it would be a shame to have any kind of litter, especially broken glass in the gravel or river bed.
Of course, I always leave with more garbage than I bring in. Usually manage to get a whole garbage bag of other peoples litter to take out wherever I camp. I wish everyone did the same.

Went years ago when I was at LSU. Had a blast.

Don't do the following stupid things:

1. Smoke so much weed you miss the I-49 exit to Shreveport, have no map or basic understanding of getting from Baton Rouge to Shreveport, and wind up driving state highways from Lake Charles to Shreveport.

2. Get caught in a storm so fierce while driving you literally think you're going to die.

3. Get to Shreveport so late (around 2 a.m.) and drive through town with weed in the car while being followed by the local mountie and get so paranoid that you pull into a gas station and dump the weed down the toilet.

I'm not saying I did any of those things, nor am I saying anyone with me did any of those things. It's just good general advice.

P.S. The river was great and the camping was great. I recommend having a book to read while your mates are tripping and playing around with glow sticks in the dark.

Just in case.
