British Army admits Russia could destroy their only remaining fighting unit...

It's like I've long said, NATO is a hollow shell of it's former self that's been left to rot for the past twenty years plus. Time has come for Europe to start pulling their weight in NATO.

i honestly don't think Russia is a threat to the West and they played the DEMs/MSM like a fiddle to get free air time and the best marketing for how powerful and badass they are.

This comes also after the British government covered up a Trident missile test malfunction last year. I love the Brits and British culture but they need to get serious again about rebuilding their armed forces.

they can't afford it
Europe and the UK can barely afford their current level of socialism. they can't add a few points of GDPin government spending and devote it to defense

They are most definitely a threat to Europe. The EU made a silly decision to go single currency which leaves weaker economies perpetually vulnerable (see Greece). Russia has undermined the post-war institutions which have given Europe its longest era of peace since between the Crimean War and WWI. So the Russian threat is symbolic, in that it could undo the great American achievement of leading the post-war world. Russia has also effectively made Iran into one of the post powerful states in Central Asia, and has thrown the balance of power in the ME into disarray.

There are many things the Russians are not known for being that good at. For example, their navy has never been held in very high esteem. And their pilots and tankers have never been known for being very skilled. But there are two things the Russians for centuries have been known as among the best in the world (1) artillery and (2) infantry. Never underestimate either. Russian infantry and artillery is among the best and toughest in the world and has been known as such since the days of Napoleon.

The American Navy could wipe the Russsian Navy off the face off the planet. If the Brits were ever engaged, the U.S., the French, and the Australian Navy would be there full force. It would be a bad day for Russia.
