?? Breaking News: Livy Dunne’s Infamous “Foot Lettuce” Stolen from Museum of Fine Feet in Baton Rouge
By Caroline St. James | Baton Rouge Chronicle | June 25, 2025

Baton Rouge, LA — In an audacious late-night heist that has shocked foot connoisseurs and internet historians alike, the infamous “Foot Lettuce” once belonging to social media sensation Livy Dunne has been stolen from the Museum of Fine Feet in downtown Baton Rouge.

Authorities were called to the scene early Wednesday morning after the museum’s silent alarm system was triggered at approximately 2:47 a.m. Upon arrival, security staff discovered the protective glass casing around the Foot Lettuce exhibit had been shattered. The lettuce, preserved since its viral debut in 2023, was gone without a trace.

“We’re treating this as a high-profile art theft,” said Detective Raymond Cormier of the Baton Rouge Police Department. “This wasn’t some random act of vandalism — this was targeted. The thief knew exactly what they wanted.”

The “Foot Lettuce” exhibit, formally titled #15: Somebody Once Left Lettuce in My Shoe, became an unexpected cultural artifact following Livy Dunne’s now-legendary TikTok in which she discovered a romaine leaf wedged mysteriously between her toes after a gymnastics meet. The clip, originally posted as a joke, sparked an avalanche of memes, think-pieces, and eventually, a bidding war among collectors of online ephemera. The lettuce was acquired and cryogenically preserved by the Museum of Fine Feet in 2024 for a reported $142,000.

“It’s not just a piece of lettuce,” said curator Dr. Heather Mancuso. “It’s a moment frozen in time — a bizarre, beautiful relic of Gen Z internet culture. And now it’s gone.”

Surveillance footage, which authorities have not yet released to the public, reportedly shows a masked individual dressed in a novelty Crocs costume scaling the museum’s eastern fire escape. Officials believe the suspect may have ties to the shadowy online collective known as “The Bunion Ring,” a group notorious for stealing and reselling rare foot-related artifacts on the dark web.

The museum has announced it will remain closed until further notice. Meanwhile, the public is urged to be on the lookout for any signs of the lettuce, described as “approximately four inches long, slightly wilted, and encased in a Lucite pod.”

Livy Dunne herself posted a statement on Instagram early this morning:

“Y’all. Who would steal my FOOT LETTUCE?? That’s sick. Bring her back. ??????”

The Baton Rouge Police Department is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the recovery of the lettuce or the apprehension of the individual(s) involved.

I think you need to be put on an FBI watch list. Not they would ever take any action per their standard operating procedures but you need an eye kept on you sir.
