it any worse than automatically siding with the cops?
Uhhhhhhhhh..... I'm gunna go with yes. Those scum who immediately rush to these "victims" defense, demonstrate no ability to be fair-minded and instead just scream injustice/murderdindu, are 1000x times worse than any level-minded citizen who gives cops benefit of the doubt in these situations. Surely you don't look at the two examples and see the same thing?

hands up (with gun)........don't shoot

What, Paul? did I say something you disagree with? Please feel free to elaborate

No they wouldn't have. It would have been just another murder in the hood that neither side have a shite about. At this time, that is the lesser of two evils. That is harsh and cold to say but it is not worth placing LEOs across the nation lives at stake. This cop should not have even approached the man unless he was in the active commission of a crime or was the known subject of an investigation. Unless either of these criteria were at play (which would alter my view btw) , this cop mad a bad error in judgement considering the current climate. Hell, probably >50% of every adult male walking around in the hood is concealing or open carrying a firearm at all times whether it be 1am or 1pm.

CNN just covered story. Quick piece on it. Referenced both officers discharged their weapons after person pointed weapon towards them.

Another update: Apparently a witness was there to back up the police side of the story. Basically he was yelling at the guy to put the gun down as police were telling him to. This is all according to the police.

You should be safe, no one cares about Baltimore anymore, they've moved on.

it's very simple. i can solve all their decades of "police problems" with 2 words. Stop resisting.

Cop should have pretended to not see the gun IMO. Not worth it. Not right now
Damn you're a coward.
Police were doing their job. You do t let the inmates run the asylum, figuratively and literally.

If this is how it happened then kudos to that police department. This is how I wish all encounters with citizens with guns or perceived guns would happen. Too many times police shoot people reaching for ID or carrying something other than a gun. I understand that in the heat of the moment a split second decision must be made and I don't envy the law enforcement personnel that have to do that, but I think this is where better training can make a huge difference.

If anyone was curious, black people on Twitter have latched on to "another unarmed black man killed by police" even with evidence to the contrary. Smh
Also, even though some figured out he had a gun, they're complaining about the fact that PD took 10 shots at him
can't make this up
