I don't know whether I believe that.

That is a disgrace. I cannot believe that after 9/11 and the threat of a potential epidemic as a terrorist attack that there is not a protocol for such things.
Nurse be careful out there and God Bless for what you and all of those working in the medical field do.

Erin Burnett just reported the SAME THING. Apparently they are going to discuss it again on CNN. The CDC told her it was ok to board the plane.

That is disgusting if true. I don't think I'm gonna get Ebola, but they need to tighten that shite up.

Ebola is technically a pandemic (cross continent transmission), but that's splitting hairs. Even the best established emergency response plans don't really have the teeth to cover a virus like Ebola. My guess is that most of these facilities are using their MRSA plans, but they aren't working.

Well I don't think realistically that every hospital can be expected to care for ebola patients. I mean...,with severe burns....you send the patient to a hospital with a burn center.
But there still needs to be education and protocols and proper PPE in place to deal with ebola until the patient can be transported to a more specialized facility.

They told her she could fly knowing she had fever?

Yeah... but it was the airline who decided to talk - Not doctors/CDC. Pretty messed up.
Herp Derp by Dallas Presbyt for having 70 providers work with Duncan and then allowing that staff cohort to travel whereever.
News report earlier today said that hosp was just piling discarded gowns and masks in a large pile...unacceptable if true.

Read the link I provided. Looks like it was true.
That's supposed to be a magnet hospital too. Those are supposed to be top notch hospitals

That's my biggest complaint, why did they feel the need to let 70 people have contact with him? I think medical staff was parading through to take a peek at the Ebola guy.

YES. It was reported twice on CNN by Gupta and Erin Burnett.

Gupta reporting it again now. Someone at CDC gave her the ok to board that plane in Cleveland.

Interesting since they seem to be washing their hands of it now.

I'll guarantee that's what it was

I fly back to Dallas after being away in business for three weeks. I seriously might just drive all the way from Maine instead of having to deal with airports right now
Posted on 10/15/14 at 6:45 pm to HarryBalzack
The CDC is about to throw that nurse under the bus. 99.5 isn't a fever (not even a "low-grade fever"). Hell, she even thought to call them first.

She knowingly flew. And the cdc did not flag her after she called repeatedly asking if she could fly. But the responsibilitycis on her. She flew knowing she had a low grade fever and she had been around an ebola patient.
frick that stupid bitch.

Did Gupta get to interview the girl? I would like to hear how she thinks she contracted it.
