DENHAM SPRINGS - Psilocybin mushrooms were found in the left-hand shirt pocket of Zachariah Rutledge, age 23, by a Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputy after Rutledge drove his vehicle into a house on Juban Road.

Rutledge, a Baton Rouge resident,  was traveling westbound on Sherrie Lane at a high speed on Wednesday around 1:30 a.m. when he crossed Juban Road and ran into a house.

“The vehicle went almost all the way through someone’s home, but luckily no one was hurt,” Sheriff Jason Ard said.

Someone please add pics. Can't on mobile

The homeowners have created a Go Fund Me page asking for donations to help with house repairs stating they now have “half a home.”

The family also states they do not have homeowners insurance.

Why would you drive while tripping? Especially at that level.

Right through the front door too.

That's a pretty nice looking house to not have insurance coverage on.

FWIW it says that they smelled alcohol on his breath, he simply had mushrooms in his possession.

Unless the vehicle wasn't insured, why would they need homeowners?

If he doesn't have car insurance, homeowners should be allowed to beat the shite out of him.

exactly (+2). why is everyone's misfortune everyone else's cross to bear. If a kind soul wanted to help them out, then they could do so anonymously without a fricking e-request for handout.

also, as mentioned, a) act like an adult and get insurance on your house (it must be paid off if they have no insurance, so you can afford a few bucks a month for basic coverage); and b) I'm sure that kid had insurance (he isn't Mexican etc).

that was a joke. a racist one.

He'd be less likely to crash on the downslope as opposed to the peak, and during a peak, I don't know what would compel someone to drive a vehicle. That sounds scary as frick.

Sounds like the dude was hammered and crashed, and was planning to trip at some point in the future.
