There is a difference. Baton Rouge has LSU.
Shreveport has LSU too and its in pretty bad shape. Having LSU doesnt do much when criminals destroy everything and your police are scrutinized over every little detail.

And the white flight in Jackson is the reason the city crumbled. Jackson lost its wealthy tax base.
Drive through the Garden District/Southdowns/Steele Place. They are sick and tired of burglars and home invasions. White flight is slowly getting closer. Especially if police response time is hindered because of the possible outcry of wrong-doings. This area is part of the reason BR is still capable of fielding a large PD. These places crumble, BRPD and Baton Rouge takes a substantial hit.

St. George would do that overnight and bankrupt Baton Rouge.
I agree. But I also think NBR doing something irrational would push folks into EBR parish (Zachary, Pride, Central) or Livingston/Ascension

What businesses is Delgado associated with?
1913
Huey's
What other places?
Brickyard and Draft House.

Speaking of Draft House that place has taken a huge step down, it's July and they still haven't restocked since Spanish Town.

He at least used to be an owner of brickyard south. Has that changed?
Eta: "mad mardigan" that's a great screen name btw. I had to google it to make sure my memory was correct. Now I am going to have to find that movie online. I'm sure I will be thoroughly disappointed watching again today.

Bodi White looks like Boss Hog.

Yes. Just recently. Delgado is no longer involved.

Mid-city is the hottest area of Baton Rouge right now. I have several friends who live in the Capital Heights and Garden District neighborhoods. White families aren't fleeing from either of those; in fact it's just the opposite.

Ok. Wasn't aware of that.
1913 tends to get all the attention.

Yeah, the switch was just recently. I just wanted to clear the air on that one.

Did anyone see this guy at any of the officers funeral?
Posted on 7/25/16 at 6:25 pm to captainahab
Doesn't Delgado own some bars or something? Would be nice to see some profits donated to the police fund.
Posted on 7/25/16 at 6:26 pm to captainahab
Can't say for sure if he attended them or not, but he helped kick start the 25% on the 25th donation campaign and donated a bunch of stuff to the officers who came from out of town and was also involved in the jambalaya lunch thing. So pretty safe to say he probably did.

BR will turn into Jackson
This will never happen. The fact that LSU is in BR will keep enough affluent members of society here to prevent that.
There are some real chicken littles on TD.
We also have Southern. And as hard as it is for some on here to comprehend, BR has a much higher concentration of Educated, affluent and middle-class Blacks than Jackson for that very reason.
From an industry, business, healthcare, educational perspective BR is in a whole other league than Jackson.
