Oh....that’s right. Atheists are intellectually superior! Are you made of comet dust?

No. I don’t get offended. Just stating my observations.
You seem to be taking quite the offense to them though.

Arguing with atheists isn’t really gonna win them to Christ fwiw.

No man, I just asked you a couple simple questions that you can’t give any details from your “observations”.

I grew up in Baptist churches. I also grew up around plenty of Catholics. My observations tell me that Baptists are more than likely to push their beliefs than Catholics. Just like in general conversation.
It really isn’t that big of a deal.

Do they mean like SJWs? Reason #47 why my kids go to private school

I respect what deity people decide to worship. Now that the Catholic Church isn't killing people, torturing, and putting some of our greatest philosophers and scientist in jail, I have no problem with what Catholics do. I also would like teachers to respect my children, and the law.

I have expressed my views to my children, I never force them like my parents did (Catholic school, bible study, catocism... ). They are free to decide and I respect that. After all, none of us know, that's why they are called beliefs.
Here's the deal, buddy. It's fricking illegal to teach a religion in public schools. You go to school to learn things that are generally considered facts by most US citizens.

And who said I'm an atheist? You ever read Matthew 7:1-2?
Posted on 2/10/18 at 1:45 pm to Sparkplug#1
Ok, THX for that but they don’t teach religion in BP public schools! especially @ Kingston elementary.
So sorry to offend you, what do you believe?

Would love to see how many people on this board who disagree with this statement, are adamant about not taking away their constitutional right to carry firearms,
Well, put me on that list. I'll admit I'm wrong as soon as you point out the section of the Constitution that says our schools, or anywhere else, are constitutionally mandated to be "religion free."

You didn't offend me.
I believe this world is an amazing and mind boggling place, and no one knows. The interaction of life forms are fascinating, and it's hard to believe our world and life forms are all by chance.. I also believe the power of faith is a huge thing for some people, and I respect that.
Teachers need to respect the law, parents and children. They are a very powerful tool in shaping our children's minds. Don't abuse that power.

So you won’t be upset in the least if a Muslim teacher at your child’s school requires all her students to read from learn the Koran everyday?

I don't know where we came from and I don't think that anybody on this earth truly does. I tend to believe scientists over B.C. sheep herders. It's also far easier for me to believe in evolution than a god coming down to earth to have us kill him to save us from him.

No, it isn't explicitly, word for word, stated in the constitution. It's so sad that some of you cling to this as a basis as to why it's okay to teach religion in schools. Some people are so dumb, I guess things literally need to be spelled out for them To understand them.
quote:
It seems that to some people, if the words don’t explicitly appear in the constitution then the idea they refer to isn’t constitutionally guaranteed. Viewing it in these simplistic terms is meant to dismiss the entire argument; as if every decision based on the separation of church and state is somehow invalid because the term separation of church and state doesn’t appear in the constitution. Of course the problems with this assertion are many. First and most basic is the fact that the Supreme Court is the ultimate interpreter of federal constitutional law. This means that while the term “separation of Church and State” may never appear in the constitution itself, the Court ruling in the case of Everson v. Board of Education stated “the clause against establishment of religion by law was intended to erect ‘a wall of separation between Church and State.’” A quarter century later, the case of Lemon v. Kurtzman further defined this separation when it established the Lemon Test to determine if a law violates the establishment clause of the First Amendment. Every ruling since has confirmed that, in the view of the highest court in the land the Constitution created a separation of church and state.
So there you go. The Supreme Court has always upheld rulings and interpreted the first amendment to include separation of church and state.
