I have an old family genealogy book (no pics of wives) that I would like to digitize. Any book scanning services in Baton Rouge y'all would recommend?

Are you looking to digitize the book yourself or pay a company/person to digitize the book for you?

I believe there are overhead book scanners at the LSU library. I can't remember if they require a school ID to use it. You may be able to scan and send to an email address or save to a personal USB. Ask a librarian where the Zeutschel is located and if the public can use it.

Genius Scan for iOS works amazingly well. It can do full color and if you have a way to hold the book down it might be a viable option.

Otherwise there are flatness at OD and BB that might work for <$300.

I was planning on paying someone to do a very professional job on it. Hoping to use someone local rather than send it off somewhere.

That's a good idea but I have no idea who to contact for that service. Maybe a local publisher company.

I would call Letterman’s on Government or maybe even Louisiana Office Solutions on Florida. One of these places would have to be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks for this. There's an Android version, as well. I just tried it out on a couple things, and it does quality scans, even on pictures/illustrations in a book.

The export file function is a little clunky, but it works.

I have used Kinkos to scan and copy industrial manuals, I’m sure a book would be no different.
