unfortunately people that own dogs like yours end up with mauled kids

The rest of us don’t want dogs that chase after people doing absolutely nothing acting like a rabid dog

I guarantee every one of you calling the cop a pussy would be even bigger pussies when a dog is moving in to attack you like that. But y’all are internet tough though I’ll give you that!

then turned away before a shot was fired.

You sure you watched the footage? Dog was shot then ran away. Y’all seeing only what you want to see to feed your delusions

Settle.down. The dog wasn't mauling anybody.

Funny because if I had a gun I wouldn’t have been mauled either

One of my dogs was being attacked by another dog. The other dog was a German Shep and had chomped down on my dog’s neck. I stuck my hands in and pried the Shep’s jaws apart to free my dog. I had puncture wounds and a broken finger. Sorry, not a pussy. I’m a dog lover and recognize some can be dangerous, but I’m not a pussy. I’m around dogs at various parks often. If a dog comes at me like that, I back away, maybe put my foot up or shove the dog WHEN IT ATTEMPTS TO JUMP ON ME. The dog in the video didn’t even do that.

Body cam shows dog turning away prior to the shot being fired. Freeze the video at 7 secs.

Little sweety was jumping at the cop showing his teeth and just trying to rub his sore gums on the cops uniform

If you had a gun you could have saved yourself that puncture wound and broken finger. You might not be a pussy but you ain’t the most resourceful either

This angle tells a bit of a different story. Cop should have driven away after yelling at the kids for just riding bikes around with their dog.

Sure, dog is aggressive. It might even be a POS dog. The dog should have been inside or leashed. That doesn’t mean option one is to pull the trigger.

Good thing he didn’t then. He was half a block away

You mean exactly as he did prior to pulling his gun and putting that dog down before it bit him? Dude is literally walking backwards

The puncture wound and broken finger healed. I’d be hurt a lot longer if I shot and killed my neighbor’s dog.

So the cop is called about agressive dogs. He sees a dog not on leash around two kids. Using sense he things “damn, hope those kids aren’t in danger”

Stops to get out his car. Before he can say a word Cujo is on his fricking arse going wild and rabid

I mean this is ridiculous

Put me in the camp of I would sleep like a baby after killing a dog that had my dogs throat in its jaws

Now that broken finger likely would effect my sleep

I don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to see that the dog is playing with those two kids. He even sees the kids get off their bike to get the pup inside. If you put the two videos together, he could’ve waited about 10 seconds and saved everyone a lot of grief.

You did something waaaaaaaaay wrong that could have been avoided. You let your hubris get ahead of your purpose. You overestimated your worth.

You forgot there is another side to everthing and hard men who takes their relationship with there dog to be one of ancient, prehistoric, importance.

Only fig cucks downplay the relationship between man and his dogs. They have jumped out of planes with me, helped me to raise my family, they have comforted me in dark and dangerous times and they gave saved my life and a life of my family .... my Son.

You shoot my dog, you die. I dgaf who knows it .... I live in peace, live and let live. But you shoot my dog .... you're committing suicide.

This angle should clear everything up

Look how much ground the officer does back up. Look how much the dog does press forward and he is doing absolutely everything he can to try and get his flesh from the cop

I’ve interacted with their dog many times. Other than it barking a lot, there was never an issue. I used my judgement, took a chance, and all humans and animals are alive and well. This cop took a chance is facing some criticism.

How in the world would he know simply getting out of his car would cause the chain of events of this dog acting rabid?

Contrary to people in here’s beleif, that isn’t normal dog behavior.

So? This isn’t an armed person. It’s a dog. It’s not shooting projectiles at you.

I don’t think so. If that was the case, the dog would have jumped on him instantly.
