Body cam shows SUV plowing into cop during chase

Officer Matt Stacy was involved in a police chase this past Friday in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, after officers were notified that 41-year-old Stacy Ann Bunsey refused to pull over after having stolen a vehicle. At one point Matt Stacy attempted to get out of his car to set up tire spikes, however Bunsey just happened to have turned her stolen vehicle around in order to flee and wound up driving straight into Matt Stacy’s car.
‘It was approximately three seconds after standing up outside his vehicle that the suspect rammed his patrol unit,’ Carter said in a press release.
The statement continued: ‘When the officer saw that the suspect was coming at him, he abandoned the plan to retrieve the tire spikes and instead drew his weapon, not knowing of the suspect’s intention to hurt or kill him.’(via)
Officer Stacy reportedly suffered minor abrasions and was treated at a local hospital, while Bunsey “had to be tasered and removed from the vehicle” after impact.
Bunsey faces four felonies, including assaulting a police officer, eluding a police officer, driving under the influence and possession of a stolen vehicle, as well as one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
She is currently being held on a $79,500 bond at Tulsa county Jail.

Body cameras should be mandatory for all LEO. They also shouldn't have the ability to be turned off easily, and failure to turn them on should result in immediate disciplinary action.
It's good for everyone, civilians and LEO alike.

In a thread about a cop almost getting killed, you of course bring this nonsense in here. Can you help yourself at all?
ETA: It's not that I even disagree with you, but can you not be negative about police, just once?

Believe it or not I actually think the officer did the right thing. I just wish every incident involving use of force was recorded for all to see, for better or worse. In the end it helps both sides. Here, if the officer hadn't been wearing a body camera, it could have resulted in a lawsuit or worse. It didn't because the camera was on. It should be like that all the time.

A couple problems with your scenario...
1)Let's assume a cop gets video cam footage of my sister getting raped. Are you suggesting it shouldn't be recorded? I am quite certain my sister would want to lock up whoever assaulted her. That video would be crucial to that. I mean if she's going to testify about it in court they may as well show what happened. The real problem with this scenario is that the likelihood of a cop stopping a rape in progress borders on the likelihood of me winning the lottery.
2)Why would a cop enter a person's home for a medical emergency? There's been more than one incident this year where police entering homes for medical emergencies has resulted in the cop shooting the homeowner (or worse- their children). More likely to be EMS or a EMT trained firefighter that would respond and be generally better qualified to treat the injured.
