The threads about homes and living in cars got me to thinking, is it time for these to make a come back?

Mental health facilities and treatment is what needs to be done first before any of that will be fixed.

So many of the homeless folks need treatment and medicine and don’t have it so they essentially live like animals

As technology has increased our ability to connect, we have in fact become farther apart. Many people today wouldn't be able to adjust to or accept the concept of a communal living arrangement

Talking about for people like the guy described as living in his car, young professionals just starting out in expensive cities, young couples, people in a city for less than a year, etc.
My sons college apartment is rented “by the bedroom” (so he isn’t responsible for other people if they don’t pay and has a separate lock/bathroom/mini fridge. which is sort of a take on this concept, minus the meals and/or laundry part from older days.

Most people I know who bought a house younger in life prior to getting married survived because they had lots of roommates that paid rent. It was a solid financial plan. It’s basically the same concept.
