Blue Angels are flying over the coast of Biloxi this weekend. i am planning on taking boat from Dauphin Island and plan to watch the show somewhere around Deer Island. i have never been to the Biloxi area by boat. are there any tips for good spot to watch the show? can you beach boat on Deer Island or should i plan to anchor in the water on the south side of the island? any hazards in that area? thanks.

Boat owners will be allowed to anchor in areas of the Mississippi Sound. The U.S. Coast Guard will mark areas that are restricted for safety.

A lot of the area on the south side of Deer Island is very shallow, so depending on the size of your boat that could be an issue. Also I think the wind will be fairly brisk from the southwest which might make it less than ideal on the south side anyway. Thirdly, and I'm sure you are aware, but much of Deer Island and its surrounding waters will be closed starting at 11:30 tomorrow.

Isn't it a requirement that you have to have Van Halen's "Dreams" playing while watching the Blue Angels?
