You'd be surprised. If Cosby paid the guy enough money the understanding could be that it lays the ground work for an appeal that will likely last longer than Cosby will be alive. It would be a shrewd and calculated strategy.

Photobucket has gotten in on this too. When you click on a link and it goes to photo bucket they tell you to turn your ad blocker off and won't let you see anything till you do. Basically they render some of the links here worthless to me, because I'm not turning off the ad blocker to view a stupid picture.
