Birmingham Rally's burglar covers parking lot in old buns

The carb caper left the parking lot of the Rally’s in the 1400 block of 31st Street S.W. literally coated in old hamburger buns. Some are molded, many are smashed and the spectacle is drawing giggles from onlookers passing by, with their cell phones set to video record of course. "The birds will be happy,'' quipped one.
There are conflicting reports as to when the break-in and vandalism happened, but West Precinct commander Capt. Sean Edwards police were made aware of it about 8:35 a.m. Tuesday. A suspect was taken into custody near the scene. He appears to suffer from some kind of mental illness and is currently being evaluated.
Meanwhile, the buns remain. Everywhere.
It wasn’t immediately clear if someone would be sent to clean up the parking lot or whether authorities intend to let nature take its course.

I didn’t realize there were any Rally’s left in B’ham. We use it have one down the street from my office years ago. Those were some pretty good burgers compared to the other options around here.

It's Rally's in Birmingham? Checkers in South Alabama. I thought Rally's was a Yankee thing.
