Depression. People coup up in their houses and refuse to come out and. Effect themselves and grow weaker till they die. A broken heart

Probably people with internal maiming or something that's not readily apparent that makes them a homebody/disabled/crippled

1288 people died from "Griping in the Guts."

Didn't realize Taco Bell was around back then.

Dropsie and Timpany is probably my favorite.

Overlaid and starved means children who died in the care of a wetnurse or other caregiver.

Yeah, I think it was. It was easier to run afoul of the law back then so I think just 21 is shockingly low. That's .00005% of the population and things in general were were more violent back then.

I forget where I read this, but evidently not all capital punishments were carried out. Historians have figured out that not every thief was hanged even if the penalty for theft was hanging. Just like today, prosecutions weren’t cut and dry with automatic punishments.

That is interesting. Thanks.

Looks like I've had "spotted feaver and the purples"!

For the first 12 hours, before I realized how bad off I was or even what I had , all I could think was how horrible must life have been in for people who were sick hundreds of years ago who just had the flu.

The purple spots Ian true. I still have one. Mostly on my arms and legs.

I shouldn't say more
