Thought so. I feel like the only reason anyone knows who he is today is because reddit loves to blow him at the drop of the hat.

I will just say this and leave it at that.

I don't see why you can't believe in God and evolution. Being that God put it in motion (say the big bang) and the world evolved in the manner that we know today.

I have no problem with this. When the 7000 year old crowd comes around is when the groaning begins.

From the article I posted above:

quote:

I am one of those people who believe in both creationism and evolution– believing both the Bible and science while rejecting the notion that the two, when properly understood, are somehow completely incompatible.
I don’t believe they are.
I believe both that “in the beginning God created” and that science reveals the wonders of how God did it, and I hold those two affirmations with relatively little friction between one and the other.

quote:

Obviously, this is bad science (well, it’s not even science at all). But, it’s also crappy scholarship. What James Ussher failed to realize (he’s the guy who added these ages up in order to arrive at a date of creation- a work from the 17th century), was that Old Testament genealogies were never intended to be comprehensive genealogies that included all descendants of a family line. In the type of genealogy used in the Old Testament, it is completely permissible to use the term “beget” (Hebrew, yalad ???) to refer to a descendant many generations later.

I'm a Christian (not a young-Earth creationist), but this is pitiful by Ham. Just showing a bunch of scientists who share his beliefs is not a logical argument with evidence.
